Marsh-Harding Scholarship

The Glenwood Elementary School PTO and Naquag Elementary School PTO are seeking applicants for the annual Marsh-Harding Scholarship. The Marsh-Harding Scholarship is available to any graduating high school senior who has resided in Rutland, Massachusetts for at least five years. The Scholarship will be awarded on the basis of outstanding academic standing, exceptional extracurricular involvement and leadership. Financial need may also be considered. The scholarship award winner will receive a minimum of $500, with $250 coming from each Rutland elementary school.

For consideration, interested students should submit a completed application, along with the required application essay, a copy of the student’s high school transcript, SAT scores, and a written recommendation from a teacher or principal to: Marsh-Harding Scholarship Committee, Naquag PTO, 285 Main Street, Rutland, MA 01543.       The Marsh-Harding Scholarship is given annually by the PTOs of Glenwood Elementary School and Naquag Elementary School in memory of the two Rutland residents – past school principal Donald Marsh and student Robert “Pete” Harding – who were killed in the Tornado of ‘53.
